Clos Martinet comes exclusively each year from the plots of the Mas d’en Martinet estate, located in the Vila de Gratallops wine area. The liquorella soil and the different exposures of the vineyard give it the typical nature of the estate year after year.

Over the last few years we have been increasing the local varieties: Black Grenache, Cariñena and Peluda Garnacha because we are convinced that they are the ones that best express the typicality of the Priorat terroir. However, we continue to maintain syrah, merlot and cabernet sauvignon as a tribute to the great work done by pioneers like Josep Lluís Pérez. We work with indigenous yeasts and we have abandoned what motivated us in the beginning, the technical knowledge of grapes and wine, to give way to a dialogue with nature, on the path of showing the pure expression of the Clos Martinet estate.

1992 was a very rainy year in Priorat, especially in the summer months. The rains in June and July allowed the plant to function properly and the synthesis of sugars and polyphenols. But the water that fell during the month of September and part of October possibly diluted somewhat the extract obtained the previous month and caused some problems, such as Botrytis cinerea. In any case, we are talking about a vintage with great aging potential.
